TTT 2013 02 Lent Gorinchem

This route was brought to you by:
RouteXpert Hans van de Ven (Mr.MRA)
Last edit: 16-04-2023
The 173 ANWB Promoter TankTasTocht (TTT) were scanned by Henry ten Dam and signed by Leon Stolk in Mapsource and later placed as a Track in a .gpx file. These are made available through the MrGPS website with the approval of the ANWB Promoter so that everyone can enjoy them. The 1st TTT is from 1992, so the route may differ slightly from the original.
I have checked all route points and, where necessary, placed them neatly on the road. I have also, if necessary, set the starting point and end point of the route a little further apart to prevent navigation to the end point directly and added the POI files of the starting point and end point just like a possible stopping point.
Finally, I made the route the same for TomTom, Garmin and MyRoute-app Navigation users.
Thanks to Henry, Leon, MrGPS and Promoter.

Rivierenland
* The Rivierenland region is the collaboration of eight municipalities in the Tielerwaard, the Culemborgerwaard, the Betuwe, the Bommelerwaard and the west of the Land van Maas and Waal. The municipalities are Buren, Culemborg, Maasdriel, Lower Betuwe, Tiel, West Betuwe, West Maas and Waal and Zaltbommel.
Via Dodewaard and Opheusden you cross the Lower Rhine at Wageningen, then stop in Veenendaal at Bosrestaurant Overberg for a cup of coffee or tea. After the stop you continue to wind through Rivierenland and you can stop along the Lek for some pictures with the Lek in the background.
After taking the pictures, it is time for lunch, you also do this at the Lek at Caatje.
After lunch it continues to the end point in Gorinchem, where you can stop at the Geo Fort **
** GeoFort is an interactive Science center where everything revolves around the earth. Central themes are big data, geo-design and climate. The original name is Fort at the Nieuwe Steeg in the Gelderse town of Herwijnen. The fort is part of the New Dutch Waterline ***.
*** The New Dutch Water Line is an important line of defense in Dutch history. The great historical value led to registration for the World Heritage List and the list of National Monuments as well as to the status of National Landscape. (Source: Wikipedia).
The end point of this TTT is at the McDonalds Gorinchem, where you can chat about the TTT while enjoying an ice cream or cup of coffee.
Because I have not (yet) driven this route myself, this route gets 3 stars.

At route point 16 (Purple), ferry crossing Lexkseveer, I used the "Skip route point" option to avoid unnecessary detours on the Lord map.
