RouteXpert Review
Route, text and photos of MRA Goldmember André ter Schegget. All route points were checked and the route was equalized for Garmin and TT. Route 09/15 of a three-week round trip through the west of America, from Mesquite to Hatch.
Via Interstate 15 we depart in a northeastern direction. We take exit 16 towards Hurricane. Here we stay on SR 9 to La Verkin and then to Springdale for a visit to Zion National Park (entrance fee). At busy times you park best in the town of Springdale (RP 4) and from there with the free shuttle buses to visit the park.
After this visit we drive via the Zion Mount Carmel HWY (toll) to Mount Carmel. This part of the road is certainly as beautiful as the park itself! With RP 8 you have a nice view of the "Checkerboard Mesa". Via HWY 89 and a loop through the Dixie National Forest we drive to the final destination of today: Hatch.
Comments:
1. Keep right past RP 14, the TT and the Garmin do not agree with each other. Here we used to skip route point.
2. If you are in time trouble, you can just continue straight past the RP 10 to the final destination. This saves you more than one and a half hours.
