Route Summary Motorcycling in Crete is a real pleasure, this island has many beautiful winding roads with thousands of bends, idyllic villages, beautiful views of the sea, bays, beautiful passes and ravines.
The locals are very hospitable. The roads are decent, but it is recommended to rent an All- or Off Road motorcycle, as there are also many bad roads with potholes and unpaved areas.
On the very tourist island there are many hotels, especially along the coast, there are also B&B and a number of campsites. In this tour we will assume camping accommodation.
The routes can be driven by motorcycle, car or quads and there are several rental companies in Crete where you can rent All Road, Custom, Quads, Buggies, scooters and cars. Prices for the rental of a motorcycle for a week are between 280 and 900 euros, depending on the model.
Renting from Eurodriver has the advantage that they can deliver your motorcycle anywhere so you can already get on your motorcycle at the airport and start the journey.

RouteXpert Review The ride is a series of curves and beautiful panoramas, you drive through a beautiful mountain landscape with beautiful nature. Along the way there are several points to stop for a moment to enjoy the view and to take a photo. A number of points are indicated with a Waypoint and POI.
The first part we drive via a winding road up to about 540m with a descent through the beautiful landscape with the occasional beautiful view of the Mediterranean. The roads are good but very narrow so pay attention.
The first stop is planned at Agios Pavlos Beach (RP5), a bay with a beautiful beach with deep green water and a beautiful rocky bottom. Basic services are offered on the beach, such as umbrellas, sun beds and pedal boats. A few minutes walk is the viewpoint Cape Melissa, where you have a beautiful view.
Near the beach you will find Scopas Café Beach Bar, where you can eat and drink something, optionally you can also plan a lunch in Taverna Apanemia on Triopetra Beach (RP7). This is one of the most beautiful beaches on the south coast, with the Three Stones a few minutes walk away, which gets its name from it and splits the beach into 2 parts. Take the time to enjoy one of these beaches.
From Triopetra Beach we drive uphill again on a beautiful winding road, the landscape is beautiful with the occasional orchards. The view is often wide and beautiful. After about 15 kilometers we descend again to the coast, on the way you have a beautiful view of the mountains and the sea. There are a number of points where you can stop briefly to take a photo, such as RP10.
On the coast road we drive past Vasilis Rock Beach, after which we drive back into the mountains to our next stop to visit the Kourtaliotiko Gorge, turn right at RP13 and take the gravel road down to visit the Kourtaliotiko Gorge. This is a spectacular natural gorge, which starts just after the village of Koxare and runs between the mountains Kouroupis (984m) and Xiro Oros (904m). The gorges' huge cliffs reach a height of 600 meters and are full of openings and caves, home to important animal species such as the Lammergeier vulture. The gorge is crossed by the Kourtaliotis River that flows to Lake Preve and has several small waterfalls. In this gorge you can walk, climb and swim. This is a true paradise for nature lovers. Between route points 13 and 14 are several small parking lots where you can stop to take pictures of the canyon. Sometimes there is also a small hiking trail down like the Big Waterfall (halfway between RP13 and 14).
Via a beautiful winding road through the mountains we drive to the impressive gorge of Agios Antonios, also known as Patsos-Gorge. A beautiful green and easy gorge where the temperature remains mild. You can walk through this gorge unaccompanied and it has a special bonus, there is a very good family restaurant at the beginning called Drymos (with a small animal park) where you can have a drink and eat something.
The last 25 kilometers of this day take us around the Amari Reservoir, the relatively new reservoir has a capacity of 22 million cubic meters of water and is expected to become one of the most important wetlands in the southeast of the Mediterranean. Many species of birds and animals have already appeared in the area. Visitors to the wider area visit the dam and admire the beautiful landscape. The first part to the lake is a nice wide road with beautiful views over the mountains and the gorge. After a short stop to take a picture of the Potami Dam and the Amari Reservoir (RP19), things are getting serious again and we swing back uphill to our final destination and accommodation for the next two days, the Wild Nature Eco- Lodge Camp in Sivritos.
