Route Summary
As the name suggests, a tour along the Frisian lakes. This is the 1st in a series of 43 Endangered ANWB routes. These have been published in the Promotors between April 2015 and September 2016.
My first review of a route that I did not make myself and did not drive (yet). I checked all route points and placed them neatly on the road. I have also set the starting point and end point of the route a bit further apart to avoid navigating directly to the end point. Finally, I made the route the same for TomTom, Garmin and MyRoute-app Navigation users. That has succeeded everywhere except between route points 9 and 30, TomTom and Garmin do not agree with each other. No big problem, if you drive alone you just follow the instructions of your GPS, you drive in a group then you follow the front driver and after route point 10 and 31 your GPS will follow the route correctly again. The route looks beautiful in streetview, the Frisian landscape is very beautiful!

RouteXpert Review
A large part of the South-West corner of Friesland is occupied by water. The two largest lakes, the Fluessen with the Heegermeer and the Slotermeer, are in the south. Centrally located are the Langweerder Wielen and the Sneekermeer and there are even smaller lakes.
This route runs right through this water sports paradise along the water, charming old towns and the green and wooded
Gaasterland. (source: Promoter No. 03-2016; Endangered ANWB routes).
Tip of motorcyclists who have driven this route: Drive the route in the spring or autumn, because in the summer you often stop at open bridges to let the water sports enthusiasts through.
Because I have not (yet) driven this route myself, I have rated this route with 3 stars!

The 10 most beautiful car and motorcycle routes in the Netherlands
These 10 routes in the Netherlands have been carefully selected, checked and made equal for TomTom, Garmin and MyRoute-app Navigation by a MyRoute-app RouteXpert. The 10 most beautiful motorcycle and car routes in the Netherlands are always a snapshot, and a personal opinion of the reviewer. This does not alter the fact that every lover of beautiful roads and interesting sights will enjoy these routes.
The ten routes are spread over 10 provinces, we only skipped Flevoland and South Holland. Interesting routes can also be found in the MyRoute app RouteXpert library, but we still want to stick to the 10 most beautiful and not the 12 most beautiful.
Enjoy the many fortresses and castles that are included in the routes, such as Fort Veldhuis in North Holland. But also take a look at the route southeast of Nijmegen and visit the impressive Canadian War Cemetery and Memorial. The route 'Overijssel in bird's eye view' includes the oldest house in the Netherlands and the route along the IJssel is probably the most beautiful piece of asphalt in the Netherlands.
This way there is something for everyone in this route collection. If you do not agree with these 10 routes, please send us an e-mail, indicate which route(s) should be removed and which route you would like to see instead. Maybe your route will be included in this collection of the 10 most beautiful routes in the Netherlands!
