RouteXpert Review - Passes: San Bernardino Pass (2065 m), Splügen Pass (2113 m), Maloja Pass (1815 m), Julier Pass (2284 m), Albula Pass (2312 m), Ofen Pass (2149 m), Umbrail Pass (2501 m), Stilfser Joch (2758 m), Passo di Foscagno (2291 m), Forcola di Livigno (2315 m), Bernina pass (2328 m), Flüelapas (2383 m)
- Winter closure: Passo di San Bernardino, Splügenpass, Umbrail, Stilfser Joch, Bernina Pass, Forcola di Livigno, Passo di Foscagno and Umbrailpass from November to May, Albula Pass November to June. The other passes are kept open throughout the year whenever possible.
- Toll: None, but make sure you don't get on the highway between Bellinzona and Splügen: Vignette required! The route runs right next to it.
- Alternative routes: The route has only one alternative: the few hundred meters to the pass over Stilfser Joch (Stelvio).
- Ideal months: Do you want to be sure that all passes are open: the summer months.
- Driving pleasure: all roads to the passes. The climbs require a lot of concentration, it is exciting to drive on the pass roads, despite the maximum speed of 80 km / h applicable in Switzerland on these roads
- Landscape: All passes compete for the first place. But the absolute highlight is the surroundings of the Ofen Pass, not for nothing a protected nature area.
