You can choose to fly to Sardinia and rent a motorbike on the spot, but you can also choose to drive to Marseille (France) or Barcelona (Spain) and then cross by boat to Sardinia.
You can rent motorbikes at the airport or in one of the larger cities on the island.
This is one of the routes from a series that can be used to put together a beautiful motorcycle holiday.

Roccia dell'Elefante
This route is derived from the route Sardinia Bosa Alghero Castelsardo (link in review), but now we do not drive along the coast via the SP49 and we skip a visit to Alghero. This time we drive a nice winding route on the SP19 and SP12 to the north. The second part of the route is the same.
We leave from the parking lot at the petrol station in Bosa, near our hotel and turn the SP19 on a beautiful road that takes us through the interior of Sardinia via Villanove Montoleone to Lago Del Cuga (RP6).
We drive around Lago del Cuga and Lago Bidighinzu (RP7) to the town of Thiesi (RP9), where we turn left and continue on the SP23 and SP41, which again treat us to many bends and nice little villages with cafes where you can stop for a drink.
At RP14 there is a small pizzeria to have something to eat before we continue on the beautiful SS127. This road treats us to many beautiful curves, hairpin bends and beautiful panoramas of the beautiful green nature. The road is for the most part two full lanes wide, but there are sometimes smaller parts that meander through the hills. So enjoy! Along this road we find a few small villages, but there are no places of interest to stop.
After Laerru (RP22) we leave the SS127 to continue north on the SS134 to the end of Castelsardo. This is another great way to steer and enjoy beautiful Sardinia. At RP25 you pass the “Roccia dell'Elefante” a natural rock in the shape of an elephant. A little further on you can park and walk back via a walkway to get a closer look at the rock and to take photos.
After this last short stop we drive to our hotel in Castelsardo to enjoy this beautiful day. In Castelsardo there are several good hotels and it is a small town with a beautiful beach and many cozy cafes and restaurants.
I rate this route with 5 ***** stars because of the wonderful roads, beautiful nature and nice villages and towns along the route.

RP4 Hairpin in SP19

RP18 Great ride on the SS127
