Route Summary
Day 8 of the journey through southern Sweden. A somewhat shorter route. You can go back to Gothenburg for a little while or make it a beach day (at the end or halfway). We drive through the province of Halland back to Malmö and visit some places of interest: nature reserves, museums, towns. The best thing is of course the nature along the coast, but there is also a castle and some nice places to admire. This area is quite touristy, which you can tell from the type of sights.

RouteXpert Review
From Gothenburg we drive south along the coast. If you want you can drive to the coast at Amundön (RP2) and admire the islands and possibly take a walk. We drive a short drive through Billdal (RP3), where you will find a small park with a large mansion. Then we drive to Tjolöholm (RP4) where you can admire a real castle in English style. The nature on the peninsula around it is very beautiful and on a sunny day we found quite a few rattlesnakes under the stone wall we walked over.

A bit further we drive past an old mill, Trönningenäs Väderkvarn (RP8). Special to see and it is also located on a beautiful hill. Just drive by.

Not much further is Varberg (RP9). There is a wooden bath house in the sea, very beautiful to see. There is also a fortress. Not beautiful, but impressive. You can have a drink or, if you are already hungry, eat at Vegans for example. A little further on Apelviken beach can be found (RP11). A beautiful beach in a bay. Here you can also eat something, for example at Brittas Beach Veranda. We drive to Morup where you can find a museum (if it is still open) with remains of aircraft from the second world war (RP12).

Then we arrive in Falkenberg (RP13), a small town with some nice streets, a small harbor and a beautiful bridge. Shortly afterwards we drive past a fish shop (RP14). Not just any fish shop, a fish shop with mainly salmon, fresh salmon. A fish shop where people make a detour for many kilometers to buy salmon. A concept in the wider area.

Ugglarp has a car and aircraft museum with a nice collection (RP16). It is close to the campsite where we will stay tonight: Ugglarp camping (RP18). All campsites here are family campsites, with entertainment, many caravans, but also nice houses and often close to the sea. If you want to enjoy nature even more, go to Skipås, a very beautiful nature reserve where you can walk (RP17).

I give this route 4 stars. The roads are good, the landscape is a bit monotonous and typical of beach areas and it is somewhat touristy. There is much to experience.
