Route Summary
Ever since the early 90s of the last century, ANWB / Promoter has been setting out the so-called TankTasTocht (TTT). You understand that the name still comes from the GPS-free era, when motorcyclists still searched their way on inland roads with a roadbook in the tank bag or router roll. This TTT are touring through the Netherlands with the occasional trip to Belgium, Germany or even Luxembourg, which are driven 6 to 7 times a year. The 1st around March and the last around October. These TTTs have a starting point, a pause location and an end point. It is nice to discover what you have not seen in your own country and which nice roads you did not know before.
This TTT is from 2016, so the route may differ slightly from the original.
I have checked all route points and, where necessary, placed them neatly on the road. Also, if necessary, I have further set the starting point and end point of the route a little further apart to prevent navigation to the end point directly and added the POI files of the start and end point, as well as possible pause location (s).
Finally, I made the route the same for TomTom, Garmin and MRA Navigation users.
Thanks to ANWB / Promoter.

RouteXpert Review
This TTT starts in Bunnik, originally at the Postillion Hotel. At the request of the motorcycling baker, the starting point has been shifted to Bakkerij Vonk at Het Slot 33, where you can enjoy a delicious cup of coffee with some goodies before you leave. The TTT goes over mainly beautiful roads through Zeist, Lage Vuursche, the Utrechtse Heuvelrug and along the Lek back to Bunnik. Soon after the start, you can capture Slot Zeist in the photo, via Lage Vuursche, this is a small village in the municipality of Baarn. The village is located in a wooded area on the Utrechtse Heuvelrug, between Baarn, Bilthoven and Hilversum, you arrive in Soest where you naturally also have to take a photo of Soestdijk Palace.
Via the Vlasakkers, this is a nature reserve of 260 hectares near Soest, and the Leusderheide, this is a military training ground in the municipality of Leusden, you will eventually pass Woudenberg where Den Treek-Henschoten Estate is located, this family estate covers 2200 hectares of impressive nature in the heart of the province of Utrecht.
The break is planned at Restaurant De Mof in Leusden. Please note, park behind the restaurant. There is gravel !!
After the break it is then on to Scherpenzeel and Amerongen to take a picture of the Prinses Irenesluizen along the Lower Rhine at Wijk bij Duurstede. You continue your way along the Lek, once again cross the Amsterdam-Rhine Canal to drive to Restaurant Vroeg, the terminus in Bunnik.
Because I have not (yet) driven this route myself, this route gets 3 stars.

About this region
Utrecht ( YOO-trekt, Dutch: [ˈytrɛxt] (listen)) is the fourth-largest city and a municipality of the Netherlands, capital and most populous city of the province of Utrecht. It is located in the eastern corner of the Randstad conurbation, in the very centre of mainland Netherlands; it had a population of 359,355 as of 2021.Utrecht's ancient city centre features many buildings and structures, several dating as far back as the High Middle Ages. It has been the religious centre of the Netherlands since the 8th century. It was the most important city in the Netherlands until the Dutch Golden Age, when it was surpassed by Amsterdam as the country's cultural centre and most populous city.
Utrecht is host to Utrecht University, the largest university in the Netherlands, as well as several other institutions of higher education. Due to its central position within the country, it is an important transport hub for both rail and road transport; it contains the busiest train station in the Netherlands, Utrecht Centraal. It has the second-highest number of cultural events in the Netherlands, after Amsterdam. In 2012, Lonely Planet included Utrecht in the top 10 of the world's unsung places.

The 10 most beautiful car and motorcycle routes in the Netherlands
These 10 routes in the Netherlands have been carefully selected, checked and made equal for TomTom, Garmin and MyRoute-app Navigation by a MyRoute-app RouteXpert. The 10 most beautiful motorcycle and car routes in the Netherlands are always a snapshot, and a personal opinion of the reviewer. This does not alter the fact that every lover of beautiful roads and interesting sights will enjoy these routes.
The ten routes are spread over 10 provinces, we only skipped Flevoland and South Holland. Interesting routes can also be found in the MyRoute app RouteXpert library, but we still want to stick to the 10 most beautiful and not the 12 most beautiful.
Enjoy the many fortresses and castles that are included in the routes, such as Fort Veldhuis in North Holland. But also take a look at the route southeast of Nijmegen and visit the impressive Canadian War Cemetery and Memorial. The route 'Overijssel in bird's eye view' includes the oldest house in the Netherlands and the route along the IJssel is probably the most beautiful piece of asphalt in the Netherlands.
This way there is something for everyone in this route collection. If you do not agree with these 10 routes, please send us an e-mail, indicate which route(s) should be removed and which route you would like to see instead. Maybe your route will be included in this collection of the 10 most beautiful routes in the Netherlands!
