A jewel of mountain tourism in Spain
The Sierra de Gredos Regional Park, together with the Pyrenees, Picos de Europa and Sierra Nevada, is one of the jewels of mountain tourism in Spain. Information about the Sierra de Gredos Regional Park
The Sierra de Gredos Regional Park was established on July 22, 1996. Although it does not reach the category of National Park due to the permitted practice of hunting, its protection is notable. Covering 86,236 hectares, the park is divided into 28 municipalities, with an estimated population of 21,182 people.

We leave from Villamanta towards Villamantilla,
both located a few kilometers from Madrid.
Villamanta
Just 39 km from Madrid, this starting point takes us along the M-530 highway, crossing Villamantilla until reaching the swamps highway in the direction of Navas del Rey, a charming town in the western mountains of the Community of Madrid.
San Juan Reservoir.
On the M-501 highway, we cross the San Juan Bridge over the Alberche River, which flows into the San Juan reservoir. This reservoir, popular with locals and tourists, offers a vast expanse of fresh water perfect for water sports.

Burguillo and Gaznata reservoirs.
We continue towards Tiemblo and arrive at the Burguillo Bridge, where we find the Charco del Cura Reservoir and the Burguillo Reservoir, separated by the Burguillo dam. We continue to the La Gaznata Bridge, which offers impressive views of the reservoir.
Navaluenga
Located in the Alberche valley plain, Navaluenga offers numerous tourist activities such as natural pools, wineries, a necropolis and tapas routes. With a picturesque road, we arrive at Venta del Obispo, an ideal place to stop to enjoy the local cuisine.
Puerto del Pico and picturesque towns.
From Venta del Obispo, we take the N-502 towards Puerto del Pico, at 1,352 meters high. Here, in the heart of the Sierra de Gredos, we enjoy spectacular views, diverse fauna and changing landscapes. We visited towns such as Cuevas del Valle, Villarejo del Valle, San Esteban del Valle and Pedro Bernardo, each with its special charm.
Sotillo de la Adrada.
This municipality in the Tiétar Valley region is perfect for a break, with options to eat, refuel and shop. With 4,870 inhabitants, it is one of the largest towns in the area.
Return to Villamanta
Finally, we pass through Villa del Prado and Aldea del Fresno before returning to Villamanta, completing a route that offers the best of tourism and nature in the Sierra de Gredos. A day full of adventure and natural beauty!
