This is part 9, which runs from Moose Jaw to Regina, with a nice tour through Saskatchewan.
The Trans-Canada Highway passes through all of the country's southern provinces. The route can be driven in various ways, as there are several alternative routes that also belong to the Trans-Canada Highway. The total distance is around 8,000 km. We won't be driving solely the Trans-Canada Highway, but will be taking as much of the country's back roads as possible, as highway driving alone is too boring, and Canada boasts many beautiful roads through its stunning landscape.
You'll drive through all the provinces and through very diverse and picturesque landscapes, from the Rockies in the west, the Central Prairies to the eastern Maritimes and the northern forest.
The riding season is generally from April to October with longer seasons on the west coast and southern Ontario.
Make sure you have good all-season clothing or bring rain gear. Depending on the province and the season, the weather can change suddenly and you might be surprised by a rain shower, or even a snow or hail shower, so be prepared.
In Canada, the metric system is used, so speeds are indicated in km/h. Helmets are mandatory throughout Canada (DOT approved).
Throughout Canada, you'll see plenty of wildlife. Similar animals vary from province to province, including deer, buffalo, moose, caribou, wolves, cougars, bears, mountain goats, sheep, lynx, coyotes, foxes, raccoons, badgers, various rodents, and a variety of birds.
Even though it is very tempting to stop for a photo, don't do it, it can be very dangerous.
I rate this route 3*** stars because of the many sights in Regina. The drive itself is fairly straightforward, and there are several options for taking a different route (unpaved roads).

After two days of endless, straight roads, this morning feels different. The sky above Moose Jaw is clear, and ahead of us lies a mere 70-kilometer drive to Regina—short, but full of promise. Today isn't about racking up the miles, but about exploring: art, culture, and nature.
The road to Regina winds gently through the Saskatchewan landscape. Finally, we see some curves, green fields, and glistening lakes again. It's as if the prairie is giving us a breather.
In Regina, we begin our immersion in the art world at the MacKenzie Art Gallery. Here, we find over 5,000 works spanning 5,000 years of Canadian history. From contemporary art to centuries-old creations, every room tells a story.
A little further on lies the Royal Saskatchewan Museum, the first provincial museum in the Prairie provinces. We stroll past natural history specimens and learn about the rock with the carved face discovered in 1905, a small detail that sparked a larger story.
For a moment of tranquility, we head to Wascana Waterfowl Park. More than 70 picnic areas, playgrounds, and ponds make this a perfect escape from the city. We watch ducks gracefully glide through the water and breathe deeply—this is Saskatchewan at its finest.
Then it's time for something interactive: the Saskatchewan Science Centre. Housed in a former power plant, this museum feels like a playground for curious minds. We experiment, discover, and laugh—science has never been so much fun.
After soaking up the culture and history, we leave Regina for a loop through the north. The road leads past meadows, forests, and lakes, with the occasional village where we stop for refreshments. Some sections are gravel, but easily passable, adding a touch of adventure to an otherwise peaceful ride.
Via Qu'Appelle, we return to Regina, where we'll spend the night. The city is brimming with possibilities: restaurants, parks, and museums. If you have time, feel free to stay an extra night; Regina deserves it.
I give this stage three stars. Not because of the route itself, but because of the rich mix of art, nature, and science that Regina offers. Tomorrow, a new chapter awaits, and hopefully more surprises.
