Route Summary Begin your motorbike tour through England's exquisitely beautiful countryside via scenic roads that take you from Harwich to Fishguard, where you board the ferry.
Behold the picturesque splendor of the rural Essex countryside and the beautiful settlements you pass on the way to your destination. Should you choose to take a small detour, you will witness an abundance of interesting places, such as Richmond's Coaches Museum in Colchester, where you will have the opportunity to admire beautiful historic carriages.
The journey is mainly via back roads, characterized by their charm and splendor. Note the well-known hedges and shrubs, these can sometimes form a (slight) obstruction to the view.
I give this route a three-star rating because although it exudes beauty and has functional value, it has few winding roads.

RouteXpert Review For our first day we prepare to travel from Harwich to Northampton, eventually heading to Fishguard harbor for our ferry journey to Ireland.
We will try to quench both our thirst and our fuel needs with a pit stop at the first gas station we come across. Our luck makes this prospect advantageous because we will find one that is accessible 24/7.
The first location we want to explore is the beautiful and historic Mistley Tower, located approximately 10 miles from Harwich. Despite the current decay, the remarkable architecture of the towers will certainly fascinate us. The structure is intended to be assembled using rendered masonry decorated with Portland stones with the adjacent Tuscan porches, along with miniature lantern domes on top. The eastern tower initially contained a church choir. The interior features painted command signs, including an image of the Holy Trinity on the ceiling. The west tower has a similar design, but with different painted decorations.
Our journey continues as we head to the scenic area of Manningtree, to pay tribute to the remarkable 14th century building called St. Lawrence's Church, which features beautifully intricate carvings and stained glass windows. Amid peaceful surroundings, we will take time to appreciate the sublime beauty of our surroundings, and recharge for the next part of our excursion.
We then head to Dedham Road in Colchester to visit the historic Constable Row. The fascinating Georgian mansions, dating back to the mid-18th century, will charm and enchant us with their architectural details.
The village of Bures invites us, and we happily accept, to appreciate the rich history of the "Holy Innocent Church", parts of which take us back to the time of the Normans. The church's most striking feature consists of beautiful medieval wall paintings that still stand the test of time.
As dusk falls we hope to arrive at our ultimate stopping point for the day in the immediate Northampton area, where we will enjoy the comfort of a good meal and bed.
After a day exploring the enchanting English countryside and witnessing beautiful architecture, we are in high spirits and now eagerly await the next two days to further reveal their appeal and wonders.
